Seed Bomb

    Experiment
Collaborator: Zihao Zhang, West Harlem Art Fund
    Plant Consultant: Scout Kerensky-Coodley

Planting is a form of quiet resistance, We made seed bombs using native plant species and threw them in the neighborhood where we live. The project later expanded through collaboration with the West Harlem Art Fund. Following the removal of a public sculpture, the disturbed soil created a temporary opening for intervention. Using saltshakers, we scattered seed mix across the site, treating planting as an opportunistic act rather than a permanent design. When NYC Parks installed fencing due to perceived hazards in December, the barrier inadvertently protected the ground, creating conditions for potential growth in the following spring.
